Planning your annual holiday is always an exciting experience. It takes a lot of preparation to make it a truly memorable experience. You don’t want to forget anything essential, but you also want to make sure you pack the right clothes for the destination you are visiting.
This is just as true for Dubai as it is for anywhere else in the world. The main thing to do before you pack for your travels is to bear in mind the time of year you will be visiting Dubai. This could affect what you take with you, just as it would affect anything you packed for any other destination in the world. Dubai may be known as a hot place to visit but you must bear in mind that it won’t always be like this.
The hottest months of the year are invariably July and August. The temperatures during these two months can reach the low forties Celsius on average – which means it could get even hotter. Light cotton and linen clothing is ideal for this time of year. Linen is best of all, especially if it is loose and flowing as it tends to create its own breeze.
The months either side of this period, June and September, are only a couple of degrees cooler on average than the hottest part of summer. If you don’t like very hot weather you would be well advised to visit Dubai either earlier or later in the year, when it isn’t quite as uncomfortable as it is during the peak time.
Another thing to bear in mind when you visit Dubai is that it has a subtropical climate. This basically means you will have a very humid atmosphere. This is very different to the climate you get in some hot countries in Europe, which can be a very dry heat and thus is more manageable.
This means you should definitely pack as much loose and light clothing as you can. You may find you want to change mid-way through the day on occasion, because you could get quite uncomfortable. Generally speaking the humidity rises to a peak at around the same time as the temperatures peak in the summer. Even the pools are cooled down to make them more bearable!
As you can see, even if you love hot weather you need to be prepared for the climate in Dubai. It’s not surprising that so many people leave their visit until the cooler months of the year.
Dubai weather is certainly better when you are prepared for it.
Finally don’t assume that the cooler months of the year will mean you can do without sun lotion. You still need to pack plenty of this to protect your skin from burning.
