This has opened up the arena for scientific debate more widely than previously, and it's now possible for anyone with internet access to discuss their issues on a whole host of scientific topics.



Cloud computing has also accelerated the speed at which scientific processes can be carried out in virtual environments, allowing more scientists to benefit from greatly increased computing power. Among the scientific computations that have already made effective use of cloud computing are protein folding and DNA sequencing, which would take considerably more time in more traditional computing environments.



Not only does this computing model offer exceptional power, but it's also relatively affordable - putting advanced resources within reach of more scientists across the globe, and helping to combat restrictions placed on scientific funding.
